Transformational Tip
We all start our day by putting on clothes, fixing our hair, make-up for women. We think about our day, what we will be doing…we check the weather. The most important variable as we pick out our clothes for the day is…….who are we going to see. If I am going to see my wife and kids, people that already really know me, I’m wearing my PJ’s. Our clothes really play a big part in determining what and who we want to reveal (or cover up) to those that don’t really know us. Wouldn’t we really want to reveal our relationship and eternal security with God. The Bible is full of references of clothing ourselves with God. It’s a beautiful thought.
At the beginning of each day, as you put on your clothes, put Him on…wear Him. To “wear Him” is to have His mind, to think his thoughts, exude His attitude, extend His compassion, give His love. Let God be what people see when they see you. He will be the most attractive fashion you will ever choose.
Today, consider what you wear from your clothes to your mental attitude and your actions. Ask the Holy Spirit to help control your thinking; to be transformed by this renewal within you. Clothing yourself in Him is the best preparation for each day. This discipline will bring joy and peace to you and all those around you. Prayer
Dear Father, I want to find a way to begin each day by seeking Your face. I know that by “putting You on” as I get dressed each day I will begin my day by communicating with You, getting to know You better. I know that “wearing You” will prepare me for whatever comes my way. As I get dressed each day, guide my thoughts so pleasing You overpowers the urge to impress others as I choose my wardrobe. I pray with a thankful heart and in the name of my savior Jesus Christ, as I am clothed with His blood and righteousness, and all God’s children said, - AMEN!
The Truth
My heart says of you, "Seek his face!" Your face, LORD, I will seek.
Psalm 27:8
Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature.
Romans 13:14
Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.
Colossians 3:12

I read your devotionals most every day and they help me get focused. But I have to tell you that today's devotional on Putting on God in the mornings is by far the best. Thank you for being obedient to Him by sharing your heart with us!
Thank you for today's devotional! Today I am putting on humility and kindness to others. Love the verses!! This will be the last time for a while where I share in my "abused" persona from 2 days back.
I have finally calmed down and felt a strength return to my spirit once I reached out to another community, and was welcomed. I was disappointed in my most recent church community because of the old "no one wants to confront a bully" adage. I did not tell that one person to stop touching me, asking them to do that would be like solving organic chemistry problems. The person could not pass boundaries/respect 101, as far as I could see. I had asked leadership to address the issue, and it never resolved. Person's behavior did not change.
Thank you for the reminder to be humble, I will do my best to leave as quietly as possible, without shaming anyone. When I get back on my feet financially, I will look into the "Within Reach" plan. Until then, I will continue reading these devotions, reaching out to a new community, and being grateful that there is still time left for me to enjoy life with a brand new understanding of how much God loves me.
