Transformational Tip
Many mistakenly view Christian life as being delivered from all adversity. But what Christian life really means is to be delivered in adversity. My freshman basketball coach made us run for the first week of practice. No shooting, just running.... I was a shooter, not a track star. We thought he was crazy while we were puking and thinking of quitting. Coach told us, "you will be better players, just trust me." He was right, I had a great year scoring, and our team was better prepared than almost any other opponent. Our coach had overcome these adversities in the past and we needed to trust his plan. Jesus tells us not to be surprised when adversity strikes, but to take heart for..."I have overcome the world". You can trust His plan, laid out in the Bible, for His track record of overcoming adversity is perfect!
Prayer
Dear God,
I am learning to thank You in all things. At time this is very difficult for me, but I am learning that it is through adversity and strain that I build strength. I do not ask for strength for tomorrow Lord, I ask for strength for the adversity that faces me today. What a comfort I feel when I read the Word of Jesus telling us He has overcome this world.
The Truth
I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.
John 16:33
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
No evil shall be allowed to befall you, no plague come near your tent.
Psalm 91:1, 10
