Transformational Tip
Try saying, "I trust You Jesus" in response to whatever happens to you. And if there is time, think about who He is in all His Power and Glory...then think about the depth and breadth of His love for you. If you don't want to say "I trust you Jesus", what are you going to trust in, because you have to put your trust or confidence in something to navigate life's activity. Ask yourself, "where do I get my confidence", "where does my strength or courage come from", "what makes me bold to act". Often times it is our looks, bank account, social status, intellect, ability to intimidate, argue, manipulate, our spouse, kids, alcohol, guilt, ability to control things, etc, that we find generate our confidence. Some of these are good and some not, but none were able to give us sustained confidence and assurance to manage everyday life ups and downs. In the end, these are pretty hollow and not sustaining, thus fear, anxiety, and concern are what are left with when we don't trust in Him to have our best interests at hand.
Prayer
Dear Father, I come to you with a thankful heart. In You I have confidence and peace. Help me Lord with the simple practice of seeing You in every situation, and to acknowledge that You have sovereign control over the universe. When I view the world from the perspective of "I trust You Jesus", fear loses it grip on me. Help me understand that adverse situations can become growth opportunities for me as long as I affirm my trust in Your son and my savior. I pray that this continual trust will strengthen my relationship with You and keep me close You. I pray this in the name of Jesus.
The Truth
And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.
John 16:23
Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men!
Psalm 31:19
